Providing crucial data for Dredging Support at one of Belgium’s key ports

Every week, GEOxyz carries out detailed monitoring surveys in the Albert II Dock — part of the Port of Zeebrugge — on behalf of the Flemish Government’s MDK and Port of Antwerp-Bruges (POAB). As their trusted maritime data partner, we deliver the high-quality data needed to support targeted dredging operations and help ensure safe and efficient access for the largest vessels entering the port.

The importance of this work was underscored on April 8th 2025, when the MSC Mina — one of the world’s largest container ships, with a capacity of 23,656 TEU — arrived at the container terminal CSP. Located within the Albert II Dock, the terminal received the vessel with a draft of 16.40 meters—setting a new depth record for the container terminal and confirmed its ability to accommodate megaships.

Maintaining such conditions is no small task. It requires continuous seabed management and precise dredging — both of which depend on accurate and up-to-date survey data.

By providing reliable, timely monitoring data week after week, we support POAB and MDK in keeping the port of Zeebrugge ready for the demands of modern shipping. We’re proud to contribute to the safety, accessibility, and long-term resilience of one of Belgium’s most important maritime assets.
