JUNE 2016 – GEOxyz Group Launch New UK HQ for Offshore Geophysical, Geotechnical and ROV Survey

GEOxyz has developed into one of Europe’s leading survey companies employing over 110 people across five European bases. GEOxyz owns and operates 16 vessels as well as an extensive range of seabed mapping and sampling equipment, which is deployable across their vessel, ROV, drone and surface mapping platforms. In recent years GEOxyz has successfully moved into the offshore markets with the purchase of dedicated vessels and utilising vessels of opportunity.
Sarah Cashmore, who launched her career as an offshore Geophysicist at Gardline in 1996, has held senior positions at UTEC Survey, RPS Energy and most recently as Operations Director at Calecore and Survey Manager at Alcatel Submarine Networks.

MAY 2016 – Glomar Offshore and GEOxyz establish strategic partnership

Glomar Offshore based in Den Helder, The Netherlands and GEOxyz situated in Zwevegem, Belgium have recently signed a strategic partnership agreement. This exciting new venture will allow both companies to benefit from each other's strengths, equipment and client base. Together we will target the Oil and Gas industry and the Renewable Energy sector situated within Europe. Our main objective is to start this venture close to home, with the prospect of hopefully expanding and spreading the available services on a larger global scale.

AUGUST 2015 – GEOxyz strengthens Dutch and German presence

GEOxyz strengthen’s its presence in The Netherlands and Germany with the appointment of Willem Fontein as a dedicated Area Manager for the region. Willem has over 10 years of experience within sector and comes with a particularly strong background in hydrographic and geophysical systems and services. Willem has spent time as a Geologist / Geophysicist, Dredging Engineer, Project Manager and most recently as a Sales and General Manager for a hydrographic system integrator.

MARCH 2015 – “West-Flemish Young Entrepreneur 2015” award

Geoxyz are delighted to announce that CEO Patrick Reyntjens has won the JCI “West-Flemish Young Entrepreneur 2015” award. 

He stated: “This award is an acknowledgement for a team effort.”
This competition was held in each of the five Flemish provinces. On May 21st one of these five winners will be elected as overall winner for Flanders: “JCI Flemish Young Entrepreneur 2015”.

JANUARY 2015 – Containerized Survey boats

GEOxyz have created a containerized solution, which will allow us to deliver survey vessels anywhere across the globe in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner. The vessels “Geosurveyor I” and “Geosurveyor XII” have already served their purpose on projects in France and The Bahama’s. This easy transportable survey solution is available for third party charterers.

DECEMBER 2014 – GEOxyz present at the first Belgian Offshore Day

On Wednesday December 10th, the first edition of the Belgian Offshore Day took place on the Rebo-site in the Port of Oostende. The Belgian Offshore Day is a business event that, as the name suggests, completely fits within the framework of the offshore wind business.

All regional players operating in the sector were present and had the opportunity to put their knowledge and working methods in the spotlight.
The highlight of the day, however, was the demonstration with a helicopter from North Sea Helicopters Flanders and our offshore support vessel “Geosurveyor X”. The helicopter dropped two passengers on the deck of the vessel.

DECEMBER 2014 – GEOxyz official christening of "GEOSURVEYOR X"

Earlier this month GEOxyz organised a ceremonial ship launching ceremony. “Geosurveyor X” was christened in the presence of 120 guests. Godmother to “Geosurveyor X” is Ann Coussée, Governor of West-Flanders Carl Decaluwé’s spouse. GEOxyz hit two birds with one stone and invited their guest to visit their brand new vessel “Geo Ocean II”.

Special guests:
State Secretary for the North Sea Bart Tommelein highlighted the importance of GEOxyz' recent investments. “In times of economic difficulties we are delighted that Belgian companies invest in challenging industries such as the offshore business.”
Carl Decaluwé, Governor of West-Flanders, explained: “The possible growth and creation of new jobs in the offshore renewable industry in the next few years will boost the employment for people in West-Flanders”.

NOVEMBER 2014 - GEOxyz announces the arrival of their new Offshore & Support vessel "GEO OCEAN II"

GEOxyz took delivery of 'Geo Ocean II', the latest addition to their fleet of vessels.

“Geo Ocean II” is a versatile Offshore Support & Survey vessel. She can accommodate 23 passengers and crew, has a large survey room and comfortable accommodation facilities. The vessel is capable of serving the offshore industry in various tasks, such as: Geophysical survey work, ROV-operations, Seismic surveys, Guard operations, general Support, Geotechnical sampling, Environmental surveillance, etc. “Geo Ocean II” is classified by the classification society DNV and sails under Luxembourg Flag


OCTOBER 2014 - GEOxyz nominated for "KMO Laureaat West-Vlaanderen"

Every two years UNIZO, an organization who represents employers in Flanders and Brussels on all different levels in our governmental administrations, organizes the “KMO Laureaat” competition. This is an award to celebrate excellence in the most important fields of business.

 AUGUST 2014 - GEOxyz are participating at WindEnergy Hamburg 2014

GEOxyz are attending WindEnergy Hamburg 2014 in Germany for the first time. The global on- and offshore expo takes place between September 23 and 26 at the Hamburg Messe in the heart of Hamburg.

For the third consecutive year GEOxyz has confirmed it will be present at the International Convention THETIS EMR 2014. The annual event will take place on April 9 and 10 at the Cité de la Mer museum in Cherbourg.

FEBRUARY 2014 – GEOxyz present at Oceanology International 2014

GEOxyz is participating at Oceanology International 2014. During OI2014 our brand new offshore support vessel “Geosurveyor X” will be available for demonstrations. Visit us at stand F255 and join us aboard our "Geosurveyor X".
Oceanology International 2014 is held in London from March 11 to 13. OI2014 is one of the biggest global forums where industry, academia and government share knowledge and connect with the marine technology and ocean science community.



OCTOBER 2013 - GEOxyz announces the arrival of their new multi-purpose vessel: 'GEOSURVEYOR X'

GEOxyz, took delivery of their latest vessel 'Geosurveyor X' last month. Designed to in-house specifications, 'Geosurveyor X' is a 20 metre multi-purpose vessel fitted with the latest survey equipment including a hull mounted multibeam system. The vessel is able to carry out the full range “site investigations” and “cable route surveys” in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.

'Geosurveyor X' is licensed MCA cat 1 (150 NM) to carry 12 persons & 3 crew. To maximise utilisation of the vessel, consideration within the specifications was given to the “Offshore Support sector”. The vessel can carry a 20 foot container aft and at the bow, with a maximum deck load of 25 tons. This dual ability allows the vessel to either operate in an “Operations & Maintenance” capacity (O&M) or as a survey vessel or alternatively both simultaneously offering combined efficiencies. The efficiencies don’t stop at its dual capacity. GEOxyz with its concern for their carbon footprint and that of their clients, Geosurveyor X' is amongst the most fuel efficient in its class.
At a cruising speed of 21 knots, the fuel consumption is approx. 220 litres per hour.

The versatile 'Geosurveyor X' is fitted with a 3T SWL A-frame, enabling shallow geotechnical sampling and ROV launching, the deck crane has a 7,5T/m capacity. Two moonpools are installed for extra survey equipment. For longer deployments at sea, the vessel is equipped with full accommodation, including 6 double cabins, 3 bath room units & 1 kitchen.

JULY 2013 - GEOxyz opens an Oostende Operations Base
Last month, Mr Paul Gerard, MD, Port of Oostende and C.E.O. of REBO (Renewable Energy Base Oostende), was on hand to officiate at the opening of GEOxyz’s new forward operating hub in the Port of Oostende. The GEOxyz Operations department completed their move to Oostende in July.
This provides GEOxyz with a further 600 square metres of mixed use workspace and more significantly provides 1000 square metres of direct quay wall access situated in Europe’s busiest maritime area.

JUNE 2013 - GEOxyz awarded Achilles UVDB Verify Status
 

The UVDB B2 Verify Scheme is a mechanisme for supplier pre verification and assessment, and is applicable for contracts of high operational risk.

Achilles UVDB Verify service provides organisations with a measure of demonstrable Safety, Health Environment & Quality (SHEQ) capabilities and gives a clear understanding of the industry’s requirements. Achilles’ supplier management scheme improves the efficiency of the procurement cycle while promoting health and safety environmental management and wider corporate responsibility in the supply chain.

GEOxyz’ award of UDVB Verify provides assurances to potential and existing customers that we have effective systems in place for Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Management. 
We apply these to our management and operational environment when undertaking our business.

The auditor undertook a site audit of an operational site to assess how well the management systems are applied in this environment and this visit was undertaken from the port of Zeebrugge on board Geosurveyor II.

This was GEOxyz’ first UVDB Verify Audit and likewise for the auditor conducting an operational site visit offshore.

APRIL 2013 - NEW Offshore support vessel: GEOSURVEYOR X
GEOxyz are pleased to announce that they have a new vessel under construction and due for delivery in July 2013.

Geosurveyor X is a 20 metre multi-purpose Catamaran, which can be utilised for Survey, Crew transfer and offshore support.

Geosurveyor X comes with many features that make her suitable as multipurpose vessel as well as supporting the group’s main survey activities.
Geosurveyor X features include hull mounted multi beam transducers, twin moon pools, A-frame, crane, the ability to transfer and accommodate 12 persons and much more.

Patrick Reyntjens, MD. “Our decision for such a vessel was dictated by the interest we are currently receiving, the multi-purpose nature of Geosurveyor X means that we can carry out multiple activities simultaneously and it allows us to pass on those cost savings directly to our clients”.

JULY 2012 - GEOxyz gets involved surveying the Costa Concordia
Recently, Staff and equipment from GEOxyz were deployed to “Isola del Giglio” where they were involved with the ultra-high resolution, pre-salvage multibeam echosounder and laser scanner surveys of the Costa Concordia.

The static and mobile survey results will assist the salvage   team  to  accurately  understand  how  the 
vessel is lying on the seabed, as they begin the very complex salvage task. 

The sonar and scanner results will be specially prepared to allow salvage engineers to appreciate the exact vessel orientation, extent of damage and interaction with the seabed and shoreline.
